Mark Walter Bowen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and "Grandpa Claus," began his next journey on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Mark was born on February 24, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised in Bountiful, attending area schools, and
graduating from Bountiful High in 1973. He went on to earn a business degree.

Mark, an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully served in the Argentina Rosario Mission 1974-1976, and held many church callings throughout his life including serving in a bishopric, and his favorite, a primary teacher.

He married his best friend, Susan Padley, on August 18, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He so dearly loved his family and had a special place in his heart for each of his grandchildren. He loved the ocean, sitting in the hot tub during snow storms, and Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper. Mark understood the true meaning of Christmas, and so every day was Christmas!

Mark would like to thank the BYU basketball team for beating Gonzaga before he passed. GO COUGS!
