Charlotte ( Christofferson) Dixon of Galesburg, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Knox County Nursing Home. She was 90 years old. She married Earn Vee Marshall in Galesburg Illinois. To this marriage she had 2 children. Earn proceeded her in death in 1965.
She was born April 17, 1926, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Sherman A. and Birdie L. (Gleason) Christofferson. She married James D. Dixon on December 7, 1968, in Woodlake, California. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2005.
She is survived by a son, Michel Ray ( Pam) Marshall of Lander, Wyoming; three daughters, Tammy Sue ( Manuel) Franco of Galesburg, Barbara Ellen (and Forest) Williams of Tulare, California, and Brenda ( step daughter ) ( Dennis) Johnson Sr. of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four brothers, Phillip Christofferson of Biggsville, Illinois, Bill Christofferson of Oneida, Illinois, Jim Christofferson of Gulfport, Illinois, and Larry Christofferson of California; three sisters, Ruth Blyleven of Idaho and June Daly and Gerna McGraw, both of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Dixon; a daughter, Sherry Ryan; and eight brothers and sisters.
Charlotte was a homemaker. While living in California, she was a school librarian for six years. James and Charlotte retired to Galesburg in 1992. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Charlotte enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Her brother, Jim Christofferson, will offer the eulogy. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.

Her Grandchildren especially her granddaughter Cassandra loved her " Grandma Dixon"
She had brilliant red hair when she was younger.
She loved to crochet.
She loved flowers, she worked in a nursery part time in Illinois when her and Earn lived there.
She and Earn moved to California due to his health.
