Ola Johnson, 86, passed away February 19, 2017 in Eureka, CA. She was born September 8, 1930 to Charles Lee and Pearl Lena (Milton) Crossland in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. She spent her early years in Broken Bow where she waitressed at the Knick Knack Cafe in her teens.

Ola and Lowell Walthall were married in Servier Co, Arkansas September 8, 1947. They soon moved to Elkton, Oregon where her sister Juanita was living. They later moved to Glendale, Oregon for a time before moving to Arcata, California where she spent the rest of her life. Ola enjoyed people and went back to waitressing in Arcata at one point. she later married Clyde Johnson.

Ola was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends on her wood cook stove she brought back from Oklahoma after her mother passed away. She and Clyde traveled and when they parked the R.V. permanently, they enjoyed spending time in it away from town. Ola and Clyde always seemed to have a remodeling project going on at their home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Lowell Walthall and Clyde Johnson, and infant son (Lowell Gene), and her brother Earl Lee Crossland. She is survived by her children, James (Kathleen) Walthall of Eureka, CA, Ruby (Bill) Baccala of Indio, CA, sister, Juanita Smith of Arcata, CA, brother, Gene Crossland of Broken Bow, OK. Ola is also survived by grandchildren Angela (David) Taylor and Dana Mason, great-grandchildren Brandon Harris and Shawn Mason---Loving Nieces Judy & JoAnn Smith of Arcata, CA, Janice Quintero of Las Vegas, NV. Several nieces & nephew in Oregon, California and Oklahoma. Ola always had a special spot in her heart for her Niece Cindy (Roy) Gill of Dixon California.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Pacific and Seaview Healthcare and Rehab Centers for the excellent care they provided to Ola.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm on March 9, 2017 at Greenview Cemetery, Arcata California.
