Adelaide “Addy“ Blume, age 89, of Elgin, former many year resident of Willow Lake Estates, Elgin passed away on Friday evening at the Heritage Healthcare in Elgin. Addy was born in Chicago on April 5, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Bruno & Martha Szymendera. On November 27, 1948 she married Adolph Blume. Adolph preceded Addy in death on October 20, 1993 after 44 years of marriage. Addy was a resident of Elgin for the past 50 years and was a former 25 year employee of K-Mart in Elgin where she served as Food Service Manager. Survivors include her children: Kenneth (Christine) Blume, Dean (Steven Bayati) Blume, Dennis (Jolynn) Blume and Denise (Gary) Parsley and her daughter-in-law: Susan Blume. Other survivors include her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Addy was preceded in death by her son: Alan and her daughter-in-law: Kathleen. At Addy's request, she will be cremated and her family will be mourning their loss privately.
