He was born on December 30, 1920 in the vicinity of Greencastle, IN to Molly Opal Quinton Scobee and Artie M. Scobee.
He married the love of his life, Aline Strange, on September 23, 1950. She predeceased him on July 7, 2015. There were no children in this union.
Survivors include sister, Alma Akers, Phoenix, AZ, sister, Wilma Richard of Greencastle, IN and brother, Clifford Scobee and wife Billie of Danville, IN. There are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Milton and Artie Reece Scobee.
Visitation will be held at Northside Baptist Church, 3021 E. 71st St., Indianapolis, IN on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Services follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East in charge of arrangements.
