Jonathan Marshall Phillips
November 15, 1986 – February 21, 2016

ZEBULON – Jonathan Marshall Phillips, 29, died on Sunday. He was a native of Franklin County. Jonathan, or JP as he was known to his friends and family, was a true individual and lived his life with reckless abandon. Although he struggled in caring for himself, he was always the first to volunteer to help those he loved. Jonathan was a brilliant young man who touched the lives of all who knew him. He recently became a father and his daughter, Lily, was the greatest joy of his life.

He is survived by his children, Lillian Abigail Phillips and Liam Williford; parents, Yvonne Long Tetterton (Michael) of Zebulon and Charles Marshall Phillips (Sherry) of Youngsville; grandparents, Johnny & Rena Jean Long and Michael & Lori Tetterton; sister, Casey Winstead; loving aunt, Melissa Byrd; and fiancé, Chelsey Leanne Williford. Jonathan is preceded in death by his grandmother, Rebecca Telfair Horton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Lillian Phillips College Fund care of any State Employees Credit Union.

Memorial service 8 pm, Thursday, Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1581 Bethlehem Church Rd., Youngsville, with visitation from 6-8 pm, prior to the service.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.
