, 89, of Frontenac, Kansas died at 7:58 A.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas.

Mr. Marshall was born May 27, 1927 at West Mineral, Kansas the son of Riley and Theo Sanderson Marshall.

Ray was a retired farmer who farmed most of his life south of Girard before retiring in 1984 and moving to Frontenac. He was raised in Farlington and graduated from Girard High School in 1944.

He married Mary Lundrigan on October 17, 1948 at Girard, Kansas. Mrs. Marshall survives at the home.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Frontenac United Methodist Church, the Pittsburg American Legion, he was a Community 4H Leader, served on the Board of Directors of Producers Coop, served of the Board of Directors of Farm Bureau, and a singer in Our Plus Singing Group.

Survivors include two sons, Bill (Karen) Marshall of Girard and Brian (Brenda) Marshall of Arma, a sister, Anne Martens of Pittsburg, a brother, Richard Dean Marshall of Ft.Scott, Kansas, five grandchildren, Crystal Barnes, Cassey Langerot, Brooke McGown, Brett Marshall, and Blake Marshall, a step-granddaughter, Katherine Mitchell, eleven great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Xenia Allen and Virginia Chance, and two brothers, Charles E. and Lester Carl Marshall.

Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Frontenac United Methodist Church in Frontenac, Kansas with the Rev. Annie Ricker officiating.

Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas.

Ft. Riley Burial Detail will conduct graveside flag folding services.

The family suggests memorial to the Frontenac United Methodist Church.

Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
