Lonaconing
Mrs Margaret Welsh Winkler died in her home in Barton, last Saturday. The funeral took place this morning from St Gabriel's church where a requiem mass was sung. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery in Westernport. The pallbearers were: Patrick Gallagher, Ernest Creutzberg, Michael Thompson, William Rogan, David Thompson, George Frenzell, Patrick Consoy and E T Creutzberg. Flower bearers: Frank Williams, John Kelley, William Logsdon and Charles Green. Mrs Winkler was the daughter of the venerable Peter Welsh and was born April 1868 at West Virginia Junction. She lived at Barton about twenty-six years. She was married to Edward Winkler July 14, 1911. Mrs Winkler had been ailing for more than six months. About ten days ago, she contracted pneumonia which owing to her debilitated state, she was unable to withstand. She is survived by her aged parents, three sisters and one brother. They are James Welsh, Westernport; Miss Jane Welsh, Barton; Mrs Edward Brady, Masontown, W Va and Mrs Mary Wilburn, Derry, Pa. Peter Welsh is nearing the century mark and her mother is also well on in years. The parents are native of County Mayo, Ireland.
