"James A. Welsh Sr., aged 73 years, died yesterday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel A. Laffey, Westernport.
Mr. Welsh was a retired business man. About a year ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and had been confined to his bed ever since.
His wife, lately deceased, was Mary P. Brown and was a daughter of Harmon Brown of Barton, Md.
Surviving are the following children, James A. Welsh Jr., Harry E. Welsh, John R. Welsh, Lloyd L. Welsh, Bernard V. Welsh, Mrs. Daniel A. Laffey, all of Westernport, and Mrs. Owen J. Harris and Mrs. Leo Montgomery, Baltimore.
Mr. Welsh was born at Hampshire, Mineral County, Virginia (now West Virginia,) but had been a resident of Westernport many years. She was a staunch Republican and held a responsible position in the United States Government Printing Office at Washington, under President Harrison.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Md."
