Dorothy Elizabeth Friend 102, of Yale, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at MediLodge of Yale.
She was born July 23, 1914, in Detroit the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Clark) Washburn.
Her marriage to Bernard Friend was June 29, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. Bernard died October 15, 1979.
Dorothy was a member of Trinity Missionary Church, Yale, and was active in the Yale Senior Center for many years.
Surviving are two daughters and two sons, 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Neal in 2014 and five brothers and sisters.
The family honors the memory of Dorothy and invite you to visit and share memories Friday, March 3, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Missionary Church, Yale, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Phil Whipple, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale.
Memorials are suggested to “Yale Senior Center”.
