IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Sarah Elizabeth Finn Alvey, 98, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 24, 2007 at Idaho Falls Health & Rehab of causes incident to age.

She was born November 17, 1908, at Rudy (Clark), Idaho, to Wilford Harris Finn and Sarah Jeffs Finn. She grew up in Clark and rode a horse to the old Buck School in Jefferson County.

She married Alfred Lionel Alvey October 12, 1932, in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple December 12, 1951. They made their home in Idaho Falls and she was a homemaker and mother. She worked as a drapery maker and clerk at J. C. Penney for over 20 years, and as a cook at Modern Café.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many positions, including Relief Society President, Primary and Sunday School teacher. She loved to sew for her children and grandchildren and to put on birthday parties for them. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and was known for her delicious pies.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Yvonne (Wayne) Olsen of Iona, ID
Brother: Thyrald (Elaine) Finn of Rigby, ID
Sister: Olive Deschamps of Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Betty (Richard) Brower of Rexburg, ID
Sister: Beth (Ray) Tolley of Kearns, UT
15 Grandchildren & 47 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alfred, and a daughter, DeeAnn Malone.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007, at the Idaho Falls LDS South Stake Center, 2051 South Emerson, with Bishop Steve Parry of the Idaho Falls 15th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
