Kenneth was born Oct. 20, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was the son of the late Tiff & Lora Turpin. Ken graduated from Fairfield High School in 1946 after returning home from Military duty with the U.S. Marines from 1943-1946. While serving in the South Pacific area during WW-II he received several awards including the Purple Heart for wounds received on Okinawa and a concussion in the battle for Saipan.
Ken attended Butler Business College and Tri-State College, in Angola, IN. On May 10, 1948 he was united in marriage to Frances M. Parsley at Covington, KY. Ken was employed at the CP & F Co., Hamilton, OH for six years prior to attending the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy, Columbus, Ohio in April 1952. He was commissioned a Highway Patrolman July, 1952 and served at the Springfield Post (Twice), Greenville Post and the Hamilton Post. After his years with the OSHP, he was employed for 10 years as Safety-Personnel Mgr. for Eastern Express, Inc., Terre Haute, Indiana. He then became Safety Personnel Mgr., for Overnite Transportation Co., Richmond, VA for sixteen years retiring in 1992.
Kenny was a sixty-five year member of the Ben Franklin Lodge #719 F&AM, Hamilton OH. He was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and the Syrian Shrine Temple of Cincinnati, OH. He was also a member of the Amvets Post #1983 of Hamilton, OH, a life member of the VFW Post #1069 of Fairfield, OH, a life member of both the Sixth Marine Division Assn. & the China Marine Assn. Kenneth was also a long time member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, Hamilton, OH.
He is survived by a daughter, of Fairfield, Ohio, daughter and son-in-law of Hamilton, OH, a son of Middletown, Ohio, a granddaughter and two grandsons. He is also survived by a brotherof Hamilton, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances on March 6, 2008, his parents and three brothers, Matt S. Turpin, Edwin T. Turpin, and Charles Turpin, and Son-in-law John R. Kahn II.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Colligan Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ohio. Masonic Services start promptly at 1 p.m. followed by services by Rabbi Slaton. In Lieu of flowers make a donation to the Beth Israel Synagogue.
