Actress. Popular Swedish actress of the 1940s and 1950s. She began her acting studies at Stockholm's Royal Dramatic Theater and is best remembered for her film work with director Ingmar Bergman. She made her screen debut in the 1941 motion picture "School Girl" before achieving international acclaim and success in the 1958 film "The Maid." She appeared in three Bergman films during the 1950s including: "To Joy" (1950), "Summer Interlude" (1951) in which she portrayed an aspiring ballerina and "Waiting Women" (1952). Her screen credits include: "Resan Bort" (1945), "Maria" (1947), "Elvira" (1949), "We Three Debutantes" (1953), "Wild Birds" (1955), "Jazz Boy" (1958) and "Bluff Stop" (1977). She died from undisclosed causes in Cannes, France at the age of 82.
