Harold Eugene "Gene" Standley, 69, was born July 13, 1932, to Joe Hooker Standley, Jr. and Madel Edith Winn Standley in Thayer. He died June 1, 2002 in West Plains, MO.
He was a veteran of the United Stated Army, having served during the Korean conflict.
He was a carpenter and a truck driver.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include one son, David of California; three daughters, Denise of Washington, Donna of Oregon and Debbie of Canada; two brothers, Ted and James; six sisters, Dorthy, Muriel, Ruth, Mary, Sarah and Brenda; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; two aunts; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several step-children; several step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Edith Winn Standley; his wife, Marge; his grandparents, Joe Standley Sr., and Sarah Sandridge Standley and James Albert Winn and Mary Belle Jones Winn.
Services were June 3, 2002 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Ted Standley officiating. Burial was in the Koshkonong Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
Pallbearers were family.
