Gene Otto Dasher, 56, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Savannah Hospice House surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Hinesville and a member of Crossroads Holy Church of God. A plumber of 43 years, he worked for Roto-Rooter for the past several years. Gene was a true testament of how God can work in someone's life. He was an avid NASCAR and Jimmie Johnson fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katy Dasher; son, Nathan Alexander Dasher; his parents, William Ivey and Catherine Dasher; and his half-sister, Doris Mae Stafford.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Crossroads Holy Church of God. Burial will follow in Hinesville Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Crossroads Holy Church of God, 2470 Highway 196 West, Hinesville, GA 31313. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
