Funeral services for Mr. Ray Bonner will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Reverend David Willoughby will officiate the services. Interment with Masonic burial rites will be at the Beulah Cemetery, Fiske Union Community, under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 1st, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Charles Ray Bonner was born May 14, 1936 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to the late Grover Woodrow Bonner and Emma Chelette Bonner. He passed away February 26, 2017 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana following an extended illness.

Mr. Bonner is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth Eldon Joles and Jerry Bonner.

Ray was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Monroe and a retired manager with Roger-Pinton Firestone. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge #420 Robert Cretney and the Monroe Scottish Rite Bodies. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather he will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Bonner is survived by his wife of sixty years, Ann Bonner of Monroe, Louisiana; his son, Rocky Bonner and wife, Jeanette of Bastrop, Louisiana; sister, Helen Marie Brown of Oak Grove, Louisiana; brother, Don Bonner of Bastrop, Louisiana. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Belinda Moore and husband, Al, Melisa Riley and Jerry Bonner, Douglas Pruitt, Shannon Polheimus and husband, Ron; and seven great-grandchildren.
