Yvonne Sheehan Tipton, 83, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, February 26, 2017.

Wife of the late Harold Eugene 'Gene' Tipton for 66 years and was the daughter of the late Rev. Paul Jones Sheehan and Lillie Mae Philbeck Sheehan.

A dedicated Christian who loved her Lord and her family beyond measure. She loved anything concerning nature, her flowers and her garden, birds, and poetry.

She was baptized at the age of seven in the French Broad River near Caroleen, NC, by her father and Rev. Beachboard. At the age of fourteen she became a member of the Whitney Free Will Baptist Church where her father was pastor for nineteen years.

She at one time was in charge of the hotline for the Ellen Hines Smith legal aid hotline, was the manager of the Bluffs Apartments and had a degree in Real Estate.

Survived by three sons, Stephen Tipton (Teresa Ann), Rick Tipton (Elizabeth), and Paul Tipton; one daughter, Regina Tipton Barber (Calvin); three grandchildren, Stephen Barber (Kristin Burnett Barber), Ricky Tipton, Jr. (Kerri), and Tara Yvonne Tipton Abel (Steve); eight great-grandchildren, Sawyer Tipton, Cosette Tipton, Anna McKinley Barber, Joanie Pendley, Luke Andrew Barber, Lilly, Emily, and Caroline Abel; one sister, Vickie Watts; and a very special nephew, Brian Sheehan.

Predeceased by a brother, Paul Leon Sheehan; maternal grandparents, Charles Lester and Etta Jolley Philbeck; and paternal grandparents, Joseph Ervin and Emma Morris Sheehan.

Visitation was 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Whitney Free Will Baptist Church followed by services at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. James Childers and Rev. Chris Conner. Interment was in the Whitney Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family extended thanks to Dr. Henry Shugart and the Interim Hospice Nurses who cared for their mother.
