Jerry Lynn Yates, age 63 of Fayetteville, Tennessee, formerly of Doyle, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
Jerry was born December 20, 1953 in Sparta, Tennessee to Bertye Harris Yates and the late Robert Lewis “R.L.” Yates. He had a work career that included a school bus driver for Lincoln County and Fayetteville City Schools, Kroger, real estate, and most notably a long career with Frito Lay as a route salesman. He loved the Lord, was strong in his Christian faith, and was a member of Parks City Baptist Church. Jerry enjoyed traveling to the beach and riding his motorcycle, but most of all, he loved his family. He was a wonderful Papaw to his grandchildren and was heavily involved in their interests. He was their biggest fan in sports, was present at school and church activities, and created a mini farm for them where they enjoyed his horse, Abby. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tammy Carter Yates.
His Survivors include his daughter
Amanda Nicole Gibson and husband Troy of Lincoln County, Tennessee.
Son: Kevin Lynn Yates also of Lincoln County;

Grandchildren: Noah Carter Gibson and Chloe Beth Gibson
Mother: Bertye Harris Yates of Doyle
Two sisters: Pat Haley and husband Donny of White County; Connie Spivey and husband Ray of White County;
A multitude of extended family also survives.
Services will be conducted on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Don Russell will officiate the service.

Ricky Yates, Cecil Yates, Josh Kirby, Bryan Haley, Jeff Carter, Chad Carter, Kelly Carter and Robby Boissonneault will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Danny Hollis, Daryl Tucker, Randy Cowley, Randy Norman, Ronald Bailey, Eddie Curry, Hartman Hurshler and Scott Beck.
