Earl William Robbins, 78, passed away February 24, 2017. He was born October 14, 1938, to William and Anna Robbins, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Del City High School in 1957. Earl was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard from 1955 – 1963. He worked as a journeyman electrician for 52 years and retired in 2010. Earl served on the Electrical Board of Del City, was an officer at the Legion of the Moose in the early 70's, and a member of the American Legion.

He also helped build the original Del City Sports Association Ball Fields, building the concession stands, lighting and back stops. He suffered a broken arm while accomplishing these jobs.

Earl had many awards for safety and dedicated work ethics. He was active in Boy Scouts when Rod and Rick were younger, joining them on their outings and trips. Earl enjoyed going to the lake, liked rocks, liked finding artifacts, liked working in his yard, fishing, hunting, organizing, spending time with family, and always had a story to tell.

Earl is survived by his wife Dixie, whom he married June 1, 1956, sons; Rod Robbins and wife, Kelly, Rick Robbins and wife, Stacy, daughter, Cindy Robbins, sister, JoAnne and husband, Tom Faust, nine grandchildren and their spouses, 16 great-grandchildren and his best buddy Rufus, his 18 pound cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Bill and Ted.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel.
