Jamie Louise Long, 54, of Guthrie, OK, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 due to complications from a surgery. She was born January 2, 1963 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Jim Almus and Janice Faye (Cox) Holmes.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Jamie had many dreams, however; she dedicated her life to caring for her mother, husband, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In 1974, she met the love of her life, Ted Long. They married on December 28, 1984 and were married for 32 years. They made their home in a rural part of Guthrie and enjoyed caring for the local animals and collecting antiques.
Jamie loved her family with a passion beyond comprehension. She loved reading, flowers, cooking, homemaking, spending time with her family, and traveling. Her humor, honesty, bluntness, and compassion will be incredibly missed by all who knew her.
Jamie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Janice and Jim Holmes, her sister, Stephanie Cosme, and her nephew, Wendell McDonald.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Long, of Guthrie, her children Jen and Jamal Ez-Zouggari of Meknes, Morocco, Tonya and Tommy O'Brien of Guthrie, Jim Lemmon and Tammy Saltzman of Good Spring, Pennsylvania, her sister Kim Taylor of Sulphur, Oklahoma and a host of other extremely loved family members.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 27, 2017 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Interment will be held at Summit View Cemetery.
