Mrs. Virginia Lewis Bishop, age 76, residing at 107 Brooks Cove Rd., Candler, NC went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2017.
She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church, a graduate of Enka High School Class of 58, and attended and received an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science from Mars Hill College. She has lived in Candler, NC, Seneca, SC, and Calhoun, GA. She worked in secretarial positions for American Enka Company as well as various teaching positions for Buncombe and Gordon Counties.
Mrs. Bishop was the daughter of the late Oscar Ralph and Vaughtie Mae Lewis and the sister of the late Charles L. Lewis.
She was survived by her husband Robert C. Bishop, Sr. whom she married August 6, 1960. Sons, Robert C. Bishop, Jr. and wife Eula Darlene Bishop of Candler NC and Charles L. Bishop, Sr. and wife Pamela Ann Bishop of Fountain Inn, SCFour grandchildren, Adam Bishop, Simon Bishop (wife Sarah Bishop), Brittany Bishop and Charles L. Bishop, Jr. and great-grandchild, Gavin Byrd.
A memorial service was held at Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler, NC on March 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
