Julia M. Makrancy, 84, of Hamilton passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 28, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Makrancy was born in McKeesport, PA, and had been a Hamilton resident the past 66 years.
A former parishioner of St. Stephen's Church, and a member of their PTA and Catholic Club, she was a parishioner of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish. Mrs. Makrancy worked for many years as the bookkeeper at L.J. Makrancy and Sons Landscaping. She was a full time loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved cooking.
Daughter of the late James and Mary Benedek, Mrs. Makrancy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Louis J. Makrancy Jr.; her children, Louis S. and Loretta J. Makrancy of Hamilton, Theresa M. Makrancy of Hamilton, Stephen J. and Mary Makrancy of Florence; her grandchildren, Pamela and Geoffrey Massimini, Bethany and Robert Doohaluk, Danielle and Sammie Bell, Lauren Makrancy, Mary Elizabeth and Scot Fanning and Stephanie Makrancy; her great-grandchildren, Julianna, Michael, Gabriella, Robert Jr., Gianna, and Lili; many nieces and nephews, and cousins in the McKeesport-Pittsburgh area.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St., Hamilton. The Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, 3500 South Broad St., Hamilton. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 4- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
