Her funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Choteau, with burial in Choteau Cemetery. Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau is in charge.
She was born Aug. 1, 1909, in Iona, Idaho, where she was raised. In 1930 she married Wilfred “Slim” Jerome; they later divorced. She married Donald “Buck” Bethune in 1947 in Nevada, he died in 1986. In 1987 she married Smoot Rowley in Idaho.
For most of her life she worked as a waitress at various places in Utah, Nevada, California and Montana. She was a member of the Choteau Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband of Choteau; a son, Robert Jerome of Missoula; three sisters, Rhea Hamilton of Anaconda, Emma Hawkins of Billings, and Freda Blue of Bozeman; two brothers, William Burke of Cashmere, Wash., and Al Burke of Bend, Ore.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.—Great Falls Tribune, Monday, Oct. 24, 1994, Pg. 2-B
