Wilma Haynes Hunter passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 93 years today, Dec. 20, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. Wilma was born on Dec. 21, 1922, in Razor, Texas, to Alexander Kincaid Haynes and Vera Campbell Haynes. Wilma graduated from Paris High School in Paris, Texas, in 1941. She graduated from Paris Jr. College in 1943.

On Feb. 21, 1946, she married the love of her life Clint Hunter in Paris. In 1959 they moved their family to Lubbock, Texas. Wilma was a homemaker and worked for Texas Tech University as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock. She was passionate about her Christian faith and loved the Lord.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Raymond of Lubbock; granddaughter, Melanie White of Lubbock; sister, Robbie Parson and husband, Wayne of Belk; daughter-in-law, Helen Carrell Hunter of Lubbock; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Haynes of Paris. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clint Hunter; son, Haynes Hunter; and siblings, Lota Haynes and Maurine Powell.

Memorial contributions are welcome and the family suggests the Salvation Army or charity of your choice .
