Services for D. W. Acox, 71, a resident of the Ringling community the past 40 years, were Monday afternoon in the Church of Christ at Ringling. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Ringling with Bettes in charge.
Acox died June 2. He was born Sept. 5, 1874 and leaves four sons and four daughters, Gerdis Acox, Ardmore; Clark and Buren Acox, Rush Springs, and Bernice Ingram, Pearl Barns, Willie Wigham, Ethel Barnes and Med Acox, all of Ringling.
Five grandchildren were reared as part of his family. They are Tuffy, Evelyn and Billy Parker, Dick Knight and Poudy Barnes. Many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive.
