Lori Lynn Stone was born September 4, 1969, at Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Jerry and Connie Rice McGee. She died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of forty-seven.
Lori grew up in Ricketts, Iowa and received her education in area schools and Schleswig High School. On September 18, 1987, she was united in marriage to Richard Stone at Denison, Iowa. She lived in Virginia for a time while Richard was in the service and subsequently moved back to Denison in 1992. Lori was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Ricketts, Iowa.
Being a stay-at-home mom, Lori enjoyed her family and enjoyed working outside especially vegetable gardening and later canning the produce. She was particularly fond of animals, specifically St. Bernard and Basset Hound dogs. Camping at Decorah and Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, watching suspense films and listening to Credence Clear Water Revival’s “Don’t Stop Dancing” were favorites in her leisure time. She was friendly and considerate and always wanted to visit with close friends.
Lori was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard; two sons: Spencer and his fiancé, Caitlin, and Justin and significant other, Karrie; one granddaughter; her mother, Connie; one brother, Jeff and his wife, Cindy ; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Elsie; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
