Ransom Jefferson "Mann" Garland, of Marble Hill, died November 2, 1991 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 71. He was born December 23, 1919 son the son of James Joseph and Lillie Myrtle Cook Garland.
On March 26, 1938 he married Wilma Maedean Cook.
He was a member of Hurricane Fork Baptist Church near Marble Hill.
He was a retired crew leader for MO State Highway Dept.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jerry L. Garland of Marble Hill, MO; Bill R. Garland of Patton, MO; four daughters, Velda Doggett of Sedgewickville, MO; Judy Liley and Lisa Garland of Marble Hill, MO; Betty Schmitt of St. Louis, MO; three brothers, Lenwood Garland of Marble Hill, MO; Hobert Garland of Sedgewickville, MO; and Junior Garland of Marble Hill, MO; three sisters, Dorothy Cook; Geraldine Cook; and Melba Dean Cook all of Marble Hill, MO; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and three sisters preceded in death.
Service was Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Burial in Hurricane Fork Cemetery.
