Mr. Garland retired from the MO State Highway Department.
He was a member of Hurricane Fork Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Garland of Marble Hill, MO; Franklin Garland of Sedgewickville, MO; four daughters, Grace Cook of Millersville, MO; Virginia Bielik of Millersville, MO; Carolyn Buckner of Marble Hill, MO; Katherine Cook of Marble Hill, MO; one brother, Junior Garland of Marble Hill, MO; three sisters, Geraldine Cook of Marble Hill, MO; Dorothy Cook of Marble Hill, MO; and Melba Cook of Marble Hill, MO; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Service will be Sunday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery, with graveside military rites by Marble Hill VFW.
