Ms. Banks was born May 10, 1944 in Buncombe County to the late Gudger and Etta Webb Banks. Brenda was retired from Cheney-Bigelow. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Cecil, Jerry, and Gene Banks; sister, Glenda Chapman.
Surviving are her children, Marsha Clark of Asheville, James K. Yount, and Michael Yount, both of Barnardsville, and Melisa “Candi” Whitesides, of Ashland, VA; sister, Helen Boone; brother, Bruce Banks and wife Ann, all of Barnardsville.
Brenda’s funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2017, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Mark Bullman officiating. Burial will be in Webb Cemetery. (Edited by Jeff Lovelace.)
