Helen Snow Banks Ball, age 96, of Barnardsville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Brian Center in Weaverville.
Mrs. Ball was born April 12, 1926 in Buncombe County to the late Gudger and Etta Webb Banks; she was a resident of Buncombe County all of her life. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Carolyn Ball; and her son, Sammy Kate Ball.
Helen loved gardening, canning, and cooking for her family. She was a beautiful person and flowers brought her great joy. We will miss her sense of humor.
Surviving are her three daughters, Pamela Anthony (Kenny), Patricia Elaine Medford (Bruce) and Sandra Ball Hensley; five sons, Willie Gerald Ball, Larry Dean Ball (Josie), Donald Shelby Ball (Belvie), Gary Douglas Ball (Janice), and Kevin Lewis Boone; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Ball; her brother, Bruce Banks; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Bruce Medford will officiate, and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
