Per his obituary, Larry's family moved to Clovis, NM, when he was two years old. He joined the US Navy in 1956 and was eventually stationed on a destroyer, the USS Alfred A. Cunningham, out of Long Beach, CA. He married Ruth Royce on December 20, 1958. Larry was survived by his widow Ruth; daughters Robin, Linda, and Kate; brother Paul; as well as three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Larry Dugan passed away peacefully at home, and was welcomed into his eternal home with our Lord on Friday, May 6, 2011.
He was born November 15, 1938 to James and Eva Dugan, in Orrick, Missouri and the family moved to Clovis, New Mexico when Larry was 2 years old. He joined the Navy in 1956 and after boot camp was sent to Alameda Naval Air Station. He attended Radar school on Treasure Island and was then stationed on a Destroyer, the USS Alfred A. Cunningham, out of Long Beach.
It was while in Alameda that he met the love of his life, Ruth Royce. Married December 20, 1958, they spent the next 52 years raising a wonderful family. Larry enjoyed his children, woodworking, hiking, vacations and leading and attending Bible studies.
Larry was a kind and gentle man who touched the lives of many through his humility, humor, and generosity, and he was loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family was the most important part of his life and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, three daughters; Robin Carter, Linda (Tim) Pattie, Kate (Ole) Martinsen, three grandchildren; Erin (Phil) Grover, Bobby Carter, Emily Martinsen, two great-grandchildren; Gracie Grover, Carter Grover, and one brother; Paul Dugan.
Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of your choice, or to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
