Lafayette - A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, 2017 for Major Christopher Roan Evans, 39, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 201 E. Bayou Parkway, Lafayette, LA. Full military honors will be rendered immediately following the mass.

Christopher Roan Evans was born April 3, 1977 in New Iberia, LA. He entered into eternal rest on the morning of Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Lafayette, LA.

Roan was a commissioned officer with the Louisiana National Guard. He deployed to Iraq in 2010 as a Judge Advocate. He also acted as advising Judge Advocate to the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crash in Florida in 2015. With outstanding service and character, Roan received The Army Commendation Medal, The Order of the Combat Spurs and The Louisiana Cross of Merit.

Until his death Roan was a practicing attorney with the Glenn Armentor Law Corporation in Lafayette. He was also a member of numerous Professional Law Associations.

Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Lindsy Morgan Evans; two daughters, Megan Lueck and Neely Evans; one son, Jack Evans; mother Bertye McNeely Evans; numerous cousins, friends, colleagues, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brothers and Army Louisiana National Guard soldiers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Evans.
