Phyllis May Brown found her peace February 10, 2016.

She was born April 11, 1941, the third child of Homer C. and Eliza Brown, in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was raised in Catlett, Virginia and later lived in Culpeper, Virginia. In her later years, she came to live with the family of her sister Jeannette (Jenny) Young in Greensboro, NC.

Phyllis was special, kind and gentle. She loved her little dog, Bobo, and always held Elvis Presley in her heart. She could spend hours enjoying re-runs of I Love Lucy and The Golden Girls. She looked forward to her friends and activities at the Adult Center for Enrichment.

Jenny was totally committed to the loving care of her sister and the family especially thanks the wonderful care and assistance of special helpers Madeline Brailey, Rita Johnson, Ayrn Taylor and Aimee Nelson. We could not have managed without their kindness and help. We would also like to thank Pruitt Hospice Care.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Homer Jr.

Her friends and family will miss Phyllis. We hope she finds love as big as her heart and is somewhere walking now with Elvis.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2:00PM in Etlan Cemetery, Etlan, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Forbis and Dick, N. Elm Street.
