Gary E. Hassebrook, age 71, of Lincoln, Nebraska, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, February 10, 2017, after courageously fighting brain cancer. He was born October 27, 1948 in Columbus, Nebraska.
Gary graduated from Platte Center High School, attended Norfolk Junior College, and obtained a bachelor's degree from Kearney State College.
Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who modeled his love for the Lord. He loved his church family and served as an Executive Leader and held many other roles within the church.
Gary enjoyed his job as a real estate appraiser, was a member of the International Right of Way, was an avid golfer, had lots of "dad jokes" and will be missed by many.
He is survived by: his mother, Phyllis Hassebrook; wife, Evelyn Hassebrook; children, Lisa (Jeff) Davis, Stacy (Shane) Benton, Kimberly (Will) Teegerstrom, and Chad Hassebrook; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Madrid, Nathan Madrid, Lucille Davis, baby Teegerstrom on the way; five step grandchildren; grandchildren adopted through love, Jay Sabin, Matthew Barlay, Austin Bahr, Malayka Horner and baby Watson on the way; siblings, Betty (Dale) Langan, Rod Hassebrook, Mary (Les) Svatora, and Chuck (Kate Borchman) Hassebrook; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by father, Edward Hassebrook, and sister, Vickie Carlson.
Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Christ Place Church in Lincoln. Interment Lincoln Memorial Park.
