Shirley Ann (Traxler) Kilfoy, age 82 of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of Exline, Iowa passed away, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Meadow Lakes Senior Care in Rochester, Minnesota.

Shirley was born July 30, 1934, the daughter of Paul and Jewell (Gilstrap) Traxler.

Shirley graduated from Centerville High School and attended numerous universities. She was a lifelong learner.

She was a teacher in Iowa and Missouri, primarily a reading specialist and retired from teaching in 1994. From there she had many adventures with her family.

Shirley loved to travel, loved food, and loved collecting and showing off hats. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and had a hat collection that at one time numbered several hundred. She traveled all over the Midwest putting on hat shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by two children; Leslie (Tim) Lincoln of Dodge Center, Minnesota, David (Donna) McNair of Waupaca, Wisconsin; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, Iowa. Interment will follow at Exline Cemetery, Exline, Iowa. A visitation will take place from 1-2PM on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville. Memorials have been established to the Exline Recreation Committee or to the Exline Cemetery, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
