Carla June Miller, longtime Carney resident, passed from this life on Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City surrounded by family at the age of 77.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church, 206 E. Maple, Carney, OK. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Carla was born on June 20, 1939 to Alfred Morris and Agnes M. (Prochnau) Hukills in Cherokee, OK. She grew up and attended school in Cherokee and then moved to Stillwater. She later received her G.E.D. Carla met David Miller and married in a short time span. They shared 33 loving years together and had four children: Daniel, Jack, Marcus, and Dava.
Carla was a dedicated mother and wife. She moved across the country with her husband, while he served in the military. That allowed her to see all parts of the country and share the views with her family. Carla was an honest mother and wife. She made sure you knew what she was thinking, but also tried to build you up at the same time.
Carla had many interests throughout her life: fishing, camping, reading, crocheting, sewing, playing hidden object searches. She especially loved to spend time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was known as “Momo” to all of the grandkids. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior.
Carla was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Carla is survived by two sons, Daniel John Miller and wife, Terri of Bristow, Jack Miller of Tryon; one daughter, Dava Lee Savage of the home; two sisters, Dana Terry of Tennessee, Maxine Miller of Stillwater; seven grandchildren, Brian Miller, Jennifer Martin and husband, Jace, Bethany Owens and husband, Phillip, Colt Savage and wife, Jessica Hyde, Duell Savage and wife, Blair, Brianne Golliver and husband, Jonathan, Shiloh Wesner and husband, Ryan. Carla is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
