Obituary in The Shreveport Times August 30, 2007:

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services celebrating the life of Annie Mae Franks "Mammaw" Humphries will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Shreveport Frost Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Greg Hunt and Rev. Braxton Humphries. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home.

Annie Mae was born May 31, 1915 in Vick, LA and God called our "SPECIAL ANGEL" home Monday, August 27, 2007. She was the Matriarch of the Franks family and we will miss her dearly. She was an inspiration to each of us and we thank God for sharing her with us. Annie Mae was a lifelong and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Her strength came from her faith in God, church, her family and Christian friends. She retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company after twenty-eight years of service and was a member of their retirement group.

Her husband, Dewitt Christopher Humphries, son, Donald Ray Humphries, parents, George and Almeety McKay Franks, sisters, Ruth Fuqua, Inez Botkin and Lockie LaPrairie, and brothers, Kirby Franks and L.G. Franks, preceded Annie Mae in death.

Left to cherish beautiful memories are her son, Maylon Dewitt Humphries and wife, Betty Jo Abbott Humphries; grandchildren, Stefani Humphries Farris and husband, Kenney Farris and Steven Abbott Humphries and wife, Jenny Humphries; great grandchildren, Forrest, Kaitlin and Kelsey Humphries and William and Jarod Farris; brother, Eddie Franks; sisters, Ilda Faye Perkins and Elaine Normand; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Annie Mae, as pallbearers will be Edward Perkins, Tom Doster, Mark Franks, Brennan Botkin, Ray Wiley, Ulysses LaPrairie and Duane Humphries. Honorary pallbearers will be David Matthews, Boyce Moon, Lyle "Andy" Anderson, Marvin Jones and Dr. William Wilkins.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Shreveport in memory of Annie Mae.
