Aubie Mae Thompson Poole, age 96, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017.

Mrs. Poole was born On October 8, 1920 in Summerfield, LA. Her parents, J. Cal Thompson and Lou Kindard Thompson preceded in her death at a very early age. She is also preceded in death by husband, Ben, one son, Gene and one grandson Andrew. She is survived by one son, Ben and wife Janet, and number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from LA Tech and LSU and taught for 33 years at Jonesboro Hodge High School in business and also served as Assistant Principal. She was active in LTA and NTA and Retired Teacher Association. She also served on the state textbook committee as well as other school committees.

After retirement she became involved in China painting and belonged to the Louisiana Porcelain Art Guild. Also, extensive traveling became a great hobby.

In later years she spent much time in Claiborne Parish attending to business activities and helping develop a corportion of the Thompson Estate.

She was best remembered by her many friends as "Tommie".

A memorial service was held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel, Jonesboro, LA. Burial followed at the Jonesboro Cemetery, Jonesboro, LA.

Services held under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro, LA.
