Nan Lavonne Faulkner was born March 6, 1918 on a farm near Trosky, Minnesota. Her parents were James R. Faulkner and Blanche Kallemeyn Faulkner. She was the middle sister of three girls. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Pipestone High School in l936. She was confirmed into the Methodist faith. After high school, she went to teachers' training. Mother taught country school for 7 years. After teaching, she moved to Sioux Falls. This is when she became Nancy.
While working in Sioux Falls she met an Irishman named Howard T. Lynch. She married him in December 1946. They lived in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas where Howard served in the US Army. After being honorably discharged, they moved back to Sioux Falls. They were the proud parents of 3 children: Nancy Ann, Robert James and Sally Sue. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom. When the children were all in school, she was hired to help open the brand-new Kmart store on South Minnesota Ave. There she made many lifelong friends. During retirement Mom enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed family trips to Texas to visit her sister. Her dream was to see the Hawaiian Islands which she did in l978.
Mother passed into her Lord's Heavenly Hands at Lutheran Manor Good Samaritan Home surrounded by her family. She is now at peace and always loved by us.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her sisters Avis and Marion, and all of Howard's brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her 3 children, and 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
