A carpenter, Mr. Collins was born in Montgomery County on June 11, 1914, son of Mrs. Bianca Ladson Collins and the late Mr. Sikes Collins. He married the former Vera Brinson in Grady County on Oct. 22, 1935, and she survives. He was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church.
Surviving besides his wife and mother are a son, Weyman Collins, Thomasville; two daughters, Mrs. Bob Harvin, Thomasville, and Mrs. Jack Henson, Atlanta; brother, C.F. Collins, Stockbridge; two sisters, Mrs. N.T. Butler, Thomasville, and Mrs. L.P. Pappas, Atlanta; half-brother, Charlie Collins, Tarrytown; three half-sisters, Mrs. Lummie Collins and Mrs. Stella Braddy, Tarrytown, and Mrs. Minnie West, Warner Robins; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Dawson Street Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. R.E. Courtney and Merrill Coram. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery by Kirkland-Croy-Hughes Home for Funerals. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
