LEXINGTON – A graveside service for Lessie Rae (Corley) Taylor, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 1430 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. Ms. Taylor was born March 8, 1931 in Lexington County, SC, and passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Archie B. and Minnie Rister Corley. Devoted to her faith in her Lord, Ms. Taylor was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She worked at the GE plant for 9 ½ years. Following her employment there, affectionately known as the “hardware lady”, she worked as a sales person for over 30 years in local hardware stores. She is survived by her son, Steve Taylor of Lexington; two grandchildren, Amy Carlisle and James Carlisle (Terry); great-grandson, Jesse James Carlisle; great-granddaughter, Savanah Shelton (Noah); brothers, Weldon Corley (Virginia) of England and George Corley (Helen) of Lexington. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathy Carlisle; sisters, Pauline Pinner, Corene Roof and brother, Willie Lee Corley. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
