Clois "CJ" J. Burns, 79, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014.

Born in Cullman, AL, he served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years retiring as an E-9 Master Chief. He was a master carver and served on the board of the Back Bay Wildfowl Guild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Burns; and two sons, Dale Burns and Dwain Burns.

Left to cherish CJ's memory: his daughters, Dawn Jacox and Dana Polston; grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Hope, Eric, Caylah, Rebecca, Jessica, and Courtney; and great grandchildren, Adelynn, Ethan, and Collin.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Back Bay Wildfowl Guild in his honor.
