Joyce M. Herring, 79, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born Jan. 3, 1938, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Sadie Schaeffer. Joyce was raised by her loving aunt and uncle, the late Mamie and Claude Matz.
Joyce was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, where she taught Sunday school.
In addition to her parents and aunt and uncle, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Lee Herring Sr.; brothers and sisters.

Joyce is survived by children, Dennis Herring, husband of Vicky, Pottsville, Deborah Bayliff, wife of Robert Sr., Lisa Lawrence, wife of James, Lori Pruden, Michele Edling, and Melissa Black, wife of Kevin, all of Schuylkill Haven, and Lee Herring Jr., husband of Pamela, Tower City. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren who lovingly called her "GG"; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Grabowski Funeral Home, off Route 61, Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
