Mr. Vick came to Shackelford County with his parents in 1892, settling in the Newcomb Community. As a young man, David Glen Vick opened a large hardware store in Albany. He sold the business when he moved to Graham in 1905 where he was engaged in the mercantile business for several years. During the oil boom in Young County, Mr. Vick went into the oil and ranch business and found it to his advantage to move to Fort Worth where he lived for 15 years before returning to Graham to live on his ranch west of the city.
Survived by his wife; three children - Mrs. R.W. McKinley, Mrs. Marvin H. Brown, Manning Vick; three grandchildren; his aged father - John H. Vick; two brothers - John Vick, Arthur Vick; three sisters - Mrs. Frank Easter, Mrs. M.C. Glideweol, Mrs. L.M. Anderson.
