Roberta "Bobbie" Hurt was born to Eugene and Jennie Horn Holmes.
Memorial services will be held at First Christian Church of Norman; arrangements by Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Hurt attended school in McKinney, Texas graduating in 1941. She attended Christian University where she was a cheerleader in 1941-1942.
Volunteering to assist wounded WWII soldiers is where she met Preston C. Hurt. On October 21, 1944, they were married in Ft. Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Mrs. Hurt lived in Norman since 1951. She was employed as a secretary for many years. Her last employment before retirement was twelve years for the Court of Criminal Appeals.
She loved being with family, OU and TCU football, playing cards (especially bridge), composing poetry, crossword puzzles, but her favorite pastime was golf. She placed or won many tournaments and was proud of shooting-a-hole-in one at the age of 57. Mrs. Hurt volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Drive, Westwood 3 Day golf tournaments and placed second in a senior poetry writing contest..
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters and her son-in-law Brian Bettison.
She is survived by three daughters, Connie Chastain (David), Patti Mayes (Don) and Amanda Bettison; a stepson, Jimmy Hurt of Ohio; sisters, Kathryn Roberts and Janette Gillespie; 8 grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
