Honnes Smith died at his home in Harper, Iowa, late Saturday. He was a native of France and came to this country and Keokuk County at age 7, spending the rest of his life in this community. He was born May 28, 1856 in Alsace-Lorraine, France, the son of Johan and Susan (Becker) Smith. He was married in 1881 to Mary Feckley at Baden. She survives him along with five children.
