My great-uncle Fred Arthur Collins was the second of five children born to Fred Eijoe Collins and Mable Clara (Thain) Collins.

Fred graduated from Delphi High School in 1954. On January 12, 1958 at the Delphi Baptist Church, he married his beloved wife, Marlene Sue Hughes, and they had been together for 59 years. They were blessed with a son, Douglas, and a daughter, Melinda.

He retired from GTE as a lineman after 35 years of service. Fred enjoyed working with his hands, working on plumbing, heating and electrical work. He was a life member of the Delphi Wesleyan Church where he served as treasurer, board member and trustee.

Fred enjoyed bowling, hunting, coaching Little League and traveling. He also enjoyed family get-togethers with his brother, wife, children, grandchildren and extended family.

His wife, Marlene; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Brenda; daughter, Mindy; grandchildren, Amanda and Scott; brother and sister-in-law, George and Candace; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other extended relatives survive. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Marlene Joy Collins, Mary Lou Smith-McCleese and Janet Reed.
