Beverly C. Lane, age 88 of County Road 129 died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Geneva Living Center North, following a brief hospitalization.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00am on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid. A Scripture Service, led by Fr. Bernard Maloney,OFMCap of Holy Cross Church will officiate. Prayers of committal will be held in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Beverly’s memory to: Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Beverly was born December 24, 1928 in Waterloo, the only daughter of the late Gustave and Florence (Helbert) Clark. She graduated from Waterloo High School in 1946 and worked at Child Welfare Services in Waterloo from 1946 to 1957. She was married to Harold S. Lane on December 10, 1955 and together they operated “Twin Locust Farm” until 1991. They enjoyed collecting toy tractors and horse drawn farm implements, in addition to riding her 3-wheeler, the “Spree” and attending clambakes.. Beverly was an avid fisherwoman and participated in the annual Finger Lakes Carp Derby from 1995-2016. In 2016 she was “in the money” at 3rd place and received the honor of being the oldest participant to ever place at the age of 87!

She is survived by her circle of close friends and neighbors that have helped her throughout the years in addition to her brother’s children, John Clark Trumansburg, NY ,Sandra (Michael) Greene of Newfield, NY ,Steve (Lori) Clark of Raleigh, NC ,Richard (Stephanie) Clark of Tunkhannock, PA and her sister in law, Marj Clark of Interlaken. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold S. Lane in 2009 and by her brother, Doug Clark in 2005.
