David P. Long Jr.

David P Long Jr., 91, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg.
He was born in Bakers Summit, son of the late D. Palmer and Francis (Hinkle) Long. On December 19, 1950 he married Virginia Brown at The Little Church Around the Corner in New York City. She preceded him in death on October 17, 1984.
David was a1943 graduate of Roaring Spring High School and owned and operated Long’s Home Furnishings in Roaring Spring until his retirement.
As one of many of our country’s “Greatest Generation”, David was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the United States Navy Seabees.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg and the Murray-Appleman American Legion Post #147, Roaring Spring.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at The Village at Morrisons Cove Chapel, Chaplain Linda S. Banaszak officiating.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Village in Place Hospice Services, 425 S Market St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
