"Cotton" Virgil Merle Stevens is the son of Olen Stevens and Myrtle Slaughter Stevens. He married Janice Pinkerton and they were blessed with two children: Nancy Jan Stevens Williams and Danny Merle Stevens. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Cotton's siblings are Velma, Verna, Troy, Junior and Pack Stevens. Cotton is buried in Abilene, TX at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
